Services & Approach
Therapy can be a place to understand what has happened to you, reconnect with yourself, and create space for something new. My approach brings together relational, experiential, somatic, and trauma-informed therapies while honoring the whole person: mind, body, nervous system, relationships, and soul.
How I Approach Therapy
"The glory of God is the human being fully alive." St. Irenaeus
My work is grounded in the understanding that healing rarely happens through insight alone. Our experiences live not only in our thoughts, but also in our bodies, nervous systems, relationships, and patterns of connection.
I draw from several complementary areas of psychology and neuroscience, allowing the work to respond to the individual rather than asking the individual to fit a single therapeutic model.
My clinical approach is informed by:
Interpersonal Neurobiology\
Affective Neuroscience
Psychodynamic Theory & Practice
Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
Attachment Theory
Traumatic Stress Resolution & Healing
Somatic Experiencing
Polyvagal Theory
Areas of Expertise
Trauma
Support for experiences that continue to live in the body, nervous system, emotions, and relationships.
Grief & Loss
Companionship through death, transition, ambiguous loss, and the many forms grief can take.
Anxiety & Chronic Stress
Helping the nervous system move from persistent activation toward greater steadiness and capacity.
Attachment & Relationship Wounds
Exploring patterns of connection, protection, trust, and belonging that often begin long before we consciously recognize them.
Nervous System Regulation
Developing greater awareness of your internal state and practical ways to support regulation, resilience, and safety.
Soul Care & Spiritual Direction
A contemplative space for questions of meaning, faith, identity, purpose, transition, and the inner life.
Tools That May Support the Work
Depending on your needs, our work may incorporate specialized therapeutic approaches designed to support trauma healing, nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and deeper integration.
-
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain naturally reprocess distressing memories, allowing them to lose their emotional intensity and no longer feel as overwhelming. It can be particularly helpful for trauma, anxiety, grief, and experiences that continue to feel unresolved.
EMDR is far more than eye movements alone. It is a comprehensive, eight-phase therapeutic approach grounded in careful assessment, preparation, and nervous system stabilization before deeper processing begins. Especially for those living with complex trauma, this thoughtful foundation helps create the safety and support needed for meaningful, lasting healing.
-
A body-oriented approach that gently supports the nervous system in releasing the effects of stress and trauma. Rather than focusing only on thoughts, Somatic Experiencing helps restore a greater sense of safety, regulation, and resilience.
-
A biofeedback approach that uses real-time heart rate variability to build awareness of stress responses and strengthen emotional regulation. Clients learn practical skills that support calm, resilience, and overall well-being.
-
A specialized listening program developed from Polyvagal Theory that uses carefully filtered music to help regulate the nervous system. SSP can support increased feelings of safety, improved emotional regulation, and greater capacity for connection.
-
A therapeutic listening program designed to encourage nervous system recovery and regulation. RRP can help reduce chronic stress, promote relaxation, and support the body's natural capacity for rest and restoration.
-
A multi-sensory approach that combines specially designed music, movement, and cognitive activities to support nervous system integration. It may be used to strengthen regulation, attention, processing, and overall brain-body connection.
-
Drawing from DARe-informed principles and attachment-based therapies, this work focuses on healing the relational wounds that often shape how we experience ourselves and others. Together, we explore patterns of connection, trust, and protection while creating new experiences of safety and secure relationship.
-
Compassionate support for navigating bereavement, life transitions, and the many forms of loss that shape our lives. Grief counseling offers a space to honor your experience, make meaning of change, and move forward at your own pace without leaving your loss behind.
Healing the Whole Person
Sometimes healing means understanding the story.
Sometimes it means allowing an emotion that has never had room to be felt.
Sometimes it means helping the nervous system discover that the danger has passed.
And sometimes it means sitting quietly with questions that do not have immediate answers.
Therapy can hold all of these things.
My role is not to impose a particular path, but to listen carefully, remain curious, and help you discover what supports greater freedom, connection, and aliveness in your own life.
